My journey began in the war-torn city of Luhansk, Ukraine, where I endured the horrors of captivity and torture. Despite these unimaginable challenges, I found the strength to traverse countless countries, turning obstacles into opportunities along the way.

Hello! My name is Steve (Sviatoslav) Riabov. I’m an entrepreneur, explorer, and the author of Hitchhiking to a Million. Born in Luhansk, Ukraine, I’ve journeyed from the humblest beginnings to living the American dream—a story of resilience and determination that defies the odds.
Growing up in Luhansk, life was a daily battle against the challenges of a collapsing economy and the relentless pursuit of a better future. Yet, it was in these tough times that I learned the true value of perseverance, hard work, and an unwavering belief in never giving up.
In 2014, the armed conflict in Ukraine forced me to make a life-altering decision. With nothing but a backpack and a heart full of hope, I embarked on an extraordinary journey. I hitchhiked across nearly half the world, facing both perilous and inspiring situations, and meeting incredible people who would go on to shape my destiny.
Arriving in the USA marked the beginning of a new chapter. With just $70 in my pocket, no command of the language, and no connections, I even had to sleep on the streets in the beginning. But I confronted the complexities of starting over in a foreign land. Over time, I adapted and launched my first business. My entrepreneurial journey was marked by highs and lows, but each challenge only strengthened my resolve to succeed.
Today, I am proud to own thriving businesses and live a life that was once just a distant dream. But beyond material success, my greatest achievement is the journey itself—a testament to the power of perseverance and the boundless potential of the human spirit. As I continue on this path, I set new goals that are even more ambitious than the last, driven by the belief that the best is yet to come. I enjoy the energy and vibrancy of festivals like Burning Man. To me the most exciting thing about such events is the atmosphere of adventure, exploration, art, creativity, and of course, sense of community. It's an awesome way of creating unforgettable memories.
